Shawn Update:

Sorry it has been so long since my last blog entry...it's just been a lot of waiting and watching. It's really up and down right now. The pathology report finally came back, and unfortunately, the surgery didn't get all of the cancer. The doctor did say that it hadn't entered the lymph nodes, however, which is a very good thing. We are unsure at this point, if this means more radiation, in addition to the chemo that will follow Shawn's next surgery or not.
There were some complications with Shawn's colostemy pouch last weekend. Erin called the nurse twice to try and get it corrected, and they told her to fix it herself. She did, and the area ended up infected. When Shawn's doctor and her staff found out, they were extremely upset, and rightfully so.
As is to be expected, Shawn has been down on occasion. The good news is, he is getting stronger and is on the move. He doesn't like staying at home, and is getting out of the house. Shawn has a lot of time on his hands. Please feel free to give him a call.

We are glad to hear that Shawn is able to get up and out of the house. The weather has been so nice that anybody could get cabin fever! We are also extremely thrilled that there was no cancer in the Lymph Nodes!!!! Just a few more procedures and maybe it will be history for that cancer! Hang in there. You have friends that love and care for you both. Like us of course!

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. So when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your benefit and salvation! For when God comforts us, it is so that we, in turn, can be an encouragement to you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. 2 Cor. 1:4-6

Erin & Shawn,

Hang in there and keep the faith! We're right beside you both.

Love, Mom (Edie)

We are always thinking and praying for you Shawn and Erin and family.

AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH

May there always be work for your hands to do;

May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;

May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
