Cautious Optimism

Shawn's surgery went well today. The doctor found more scar tissue than she anticipated and sent some of it off for a pathology report. In fact, they stopped in the middle of the surgery and didn't continue until the report came back. It came back negative. Our only concern right now is that these types of path reports aren't always accurate. With that in mind, she placed Titanium clips at the areas of concern. If the new path report comes back positive, they will zap those areas with boosted radiation. We are very optomistic!!! Shawn is in quite a bit of pain tonight, but the hard part is over! Once Shawn heals up, he will undergo three weeks of intense chemo, just as an added precaution. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers!!! Darryl

Hey Everyone! I am sorry that it has taken me so long to write everyone! I just wanted to thank you so very much for all of the prayers and thoughts you have had for myself and Shawn. We are doing well. The home health care nurse comes today to change his bag. She comes about twice a week to start off with.

I also wanted to thank everyone for visiting us at the hospital when we were there. Even though it wasn't very long at all that we were there. Our house is looking wonderful! I love it and so does Shawn.

Thank you again for all of the comments and the prayers on this blog. We are very blessed to have the family and friends that we have. Thank you. Happy New Year!

Love, Shawn and Erin
