Shawn Sees the Radiation Therapist

Shawn and Erin met with the radiation therapist today. They really liked her! He will probably start radiation Monday. It will depend on how things progress with some fertility issues, that must be delt with first. He will have it every day for five weeks. The last 2-3 weeks are supposed to be the worst. Today they made marks on his pelvis area. On Thursday, they will make those marks permanent. Basically, according to Erin, Shawn will lay on a table and the machine will go around him, similar to what happens with a CAT scan. The machine blasts radiation into the body where the marks have been made. The process takes about 15 minutes. Shawn has an appointment with the chemotherapist Thursday at 10:40.

Guys,

Sorry about the delay in contacting you I have been away at school and just now getting back into the swing of things. Pam has kept me up to date with what has been going on. First of all it was great seeing you all at Chad's wedding. Shawn, what can I say about what is going on. I really dont know what to say. All I do know is you have a great supporting cast around you. I know for a fact that they have been through some tough times and have proven to be very resiliant. I am of coures talking about Darryl, Edie, Erin. And from what it sounds like your family and friends appear to be just as supportive and loving. I also know that you can count the number of times you have seen us on two or three fingers. Chances are you probably could not pick us out of a crowd except I am usally the loudest one, Chad is the crazy looking bald guy and Pam is the one that Chad and myself are giving a hard time to. But please keep in mind that we are family and that is something that means alot to us. I know we dont see or talk to each other that much or hell hardley at all, but that does not mean than anyone in our family cannot call for something and if at all humanly possible we will do it. I love this Web Site. It is awsome to keep up with you guys day to day. It is hard to belive that Darryl could have somthing to do with this. It is neat to check in every day and keep up with you guys.

These pictures are great it looks like the house is going to be very nice. When Shannon throws me out it looks like I have a great place to move to.

Oh well that is it for now. I just wanted you guys to know I did not forget about you. Shawn please remember that you are in mine, Shannon's and my boys prayers. (I dont know how much my prayers count, but Shannon is in CCD "Catholic in the making classes" and her prayers should be woth alot of points right now!) Erin , you remember if you need it, pick up the phone, and I or Shannon will be there. I know Chad, Jamie, Pam or Carl feel the same.

Love, Bo
